commissioner merase? >> so of course, again, i just want to thank you for your time dedicated to this work. i know it's all volunteer, and i know you do it for the love of your children, but for all of our children, so thank you. on slide 5, i guess this question is more so to the district, in terms of -- have we cost out any of the recommendations on slide 5 around reading interventions or just for all the recommendations in general or is that something that we're going to work on just to see what the recommendations would cost us as a district? >> at this point, i know we don't have that fully costed out. i know with have a budget associated around the dyslexia curriculum and others for implementation next year, but these additional recommendations will need more work. >> thank you. when we ghet a chance, i would just like to see what work we do around trying to figure out what we could do to achieve some of these supports and recommendation as a district, and at least know what the cost could be so we

merase? >> yes. so my concern -- i really appreciate the staff lengthening time period for families to produce evidence if they believe they should be entitled to a seat. my issue was when to remove the student from the school. and i personally would like to hold the student harmless because it's the activity of the parent that is creating the situation. i am willing to move forward with the staff recommendation, but i still -- perhaps at a future time, i want to revisit whether -- it doesn't make more sense to allow the student to stay during the end of the school term -- i'm sorry, the semester, the school semester just because it's so disruptive for the student to leave during the sem enter, and then do we -- semester, and then, do we assign students to school during the semester? i really don't have the answer to that. >> commissioner haney? >> i agree with commissioner merase. i think we spoke about this in one of the committees or the full board. to commissioner merase's point, and i think all of us feel the same way, it's unacceptable when students receive meals that are unidentifiable or are -- you know, if fruits are coming bruised or if milk is warm. i don't know where the responsibility lies for warm milk because i imagine it's delivered and then, you know, we store it until lunch, but you know, the quality of fruit should be given to every student no matter where they're located, and i just want to know how -- if you already do regular inspections and drop ins. and then, for the schools that have been mentioned, you know, i do want -- i do want us to investigate further on what we are hearing, and you know, even though they're from -- they're across the city for a variety of reasons -- not everybody's going to like whatever is served -- i have allergies up the wazoo, and i can only eat probably three of your 20 meals. just wanting to follow up on those and do some investigation around that, and if there is -- if there are things that can be fixed, you know, versus just the -- i mean, the taste of it is -- it preferential to
