[laughter] and the book was a bestseller. that is where it all began and that was published 15 years ago that dates us. or it dates me. so today and yesterday in my little way of my writing career a much bigger way the 75h anniversary of d-day with the invasion of normandy. seventy-five years ago yesterday my father landed at d-day or d+ 175 years ago today on one of the british beaches and one of the tremendous battle began in normandy, 25 years old commanding an infantry battalion of 1000 men, 600 were casualties between june 7th and mid august of 1944. it is a pretty extraordinary moment, 75 years later i was pleased to see our illustrious president actually went to france and britain to commemorate the invasion at least pay somewhat of a tribute to somebody else. [laughter] for me, it is an emotional moment because this book is the culmination of ten years of my life.
