there was a computer error that was telling the folks at the lake merritt station in oakland that there were trains on the tracks with there were not trains on the tracks. that has also been cleared up. there is still an issue with a crack in the rail between hayward and mayfair. dela daly city stationsf you're waiting for the expect some delays. emergency repairs are going on now on the track. no word yet on how long that could take. they have issued a generic 20 minute delay and because those delays can vary by trains they are issuing a 20 minute delay for these trains. it could be much longer. we do not have any word on this repair on this crack in the rail will be fixed. there are no shuttle buses either. no shuttle bridge because there are still trains running on the opposite tracks. over to sell now more -- right now for another look at the commute. >> >>> so far we see traffic getting busier along all the major routes that bart serves. it doesn't seem any busier than usual right now. hopefully, it will stay that way. highway 24 does seem busy as it normally does around 6:00 in th

the officers we are told are closer to the lake merritt station. sure enough, there they were, a pair of officers dealing with a man on a bike, another one keeping an eye on things from the elevated platform. normally there are 28 b.a.r.t. cops on patrol at any given moment, but now that they're required to work six days a week for 10 hours a day, that comes out to a21% increase in patrols. officers assigned to cars will stay with their vehicles, but the ones on foot roam the platforms and rided train walking car to car. you'll see them working in pairs, but b.a.r.t. says this is not necessarily a new thing. there is a particular emphasis on oakland and san francisco. >> there's a lot going on and i really appreciate all that because there's too much going on on b.a.r.t. >> reporter: shawnae bryant likes the increased patrols. the fatal stabbing of nia wilson last month, one of three people who died in violent clashes in b.a.r.t. in the span of a week, has put her on edge. >> the stabbing of that girl really took a lot. so i'm just happy there's mo
