emily: i want to talk about meta and the meta-verse. people don't know what the meta-verse is.ow big an opportunity do you think the meta-verse will be? do you see, what do you see at amd -- as amd's role in it? lisa: if i take a step back and talk about high-performance computing and what we believe and what i believe is that there is this megacycle around needing more computing in many different applications. whether it is collaboration applications, research applications, analyzing massive amounts of data, yes, the meta-verse is the next thing on top of it. believe it is a large opportunity. if you look at high-performance computing in its entirety, i think the meta-verse is one of those areas that many people are talking about in terms of, how do you bring together virtual reality and mixed reality together with all of the collaboration we are doing now? i think we have new expectations of what life is like post-pandemic so it is exciting. we view it as an opportunity where you need high-performance cpus are microbicide -- microprocessors and gpu's and machine learning and

the meta-verse is another question. but starting with the name, that does not actually absolve the company of all the things we have been learning in the past few weeks, months, and years about the detrimental things happening in facebook and instagram and other parts of the meta company now. as far as being a believer in the meta-verse, this is not my world. it sounds interesting but i'm not sure i would trust mark zuckerberg after everything we have learned to be the person who gets to be the one who now controls that version of the internet as well. that is the biggest concern to me. emily: from what we can tell, mark zuckerberg is not going anywhere. there was a thought if the company was making this name change, maybe he would move out of the ceo role and stay in that chairman role. it seems like he is not going anywhere. if mark zuckerberg stays at the company with the amount of power he has, what are your biggest concerns about facebook today and this new future world they are building? yael: that is a key point.

emily: everyone is talking about the meta-verse.ou of airtable told us he thinks it is overhyped -- howie liu of airtable told us he things it is overhyped. when do you think it will materialize? jeffrey: people have different definitions of the meta-verse. i think it is the culmination of a trend where our digital lives take more and more importance over what is happening in the physical world. we are starting to see these platforms, these real digital economies, where you are able to form relationships both social and economic, with anyone anywhere in the world. hollywood has planted this conception of the meta-verse that is harmful in that people think it might require 3d technology, vr glasses. i think the meta-verse needs to be accessible to anyone, anywhere, regardless of the hardware they have. on axie most are using android devices, the most accessible in the world. that is important. i am against any definition of the meta-verse that requires people to have advanced, expensive equipment. emily: appreciate that advancement -
