the last night of meteorological winter march 1st meteorological first day of spring. of course, you'll have to wait a little later for astronomical spring later this month, i believe march 20th. tonight we chase the showers out of here. a few heavy downpours still lingering moving across portions of montgomery county and into frederick. we also have a little heavy rain you can see there down across 66 and as we put everything in motion, the bulk of it is out. there is this big patch still going through and perhaps just a lingering shower or thunderstorm that we'll see with the actual cold front which will come through in the next few hours. i can't completely say we're done with rain, but i think the bulk of it is over with. keep in mind anything additional we get tonight could cause problems, although the flood warnings are down for our area. we still have a flood watch west of the blue ridge until 3 a.m. temperatures have dropped to 55 degrees at 11:00, so mild for this time of year, 60 degrees in fredericksburg, 57 for leonardtown, annapolis 49 degrees. clearly it'
