a car has crashed into the metlife office building on research boulevard. that is in rockville. montgomery county police tell us the driver is still trapped in that vehicle. we don't know if anyone inside the building was hurt. we're going to keep an eye on this and bring you more information as soon as it becomes available. jan. >>> legs lee, escalator failures were driving metro riders crazy this morning. investigative reporter went to the station and is calling to get some answers. how much does this escalator cost? >> this has only been open since winter, really, and did came in at a cost of $12 million. so this is a very expensive system. it hasn't even been operational a year now and as they are trying to use that equipment, they are experiencing problems. one rider said it's a problem that keeps on happening and this morning as passengers were on that dupont escalator, it lurched to a spark, sparking screaming, fear, and anger. >> within about an hour of the outage, technicians had two of the three escalators at the south dupont metro station working. one was not. metro s
