governor brown to replace the man charged with investigating pg&e for that deadly 2010 san bruno pipeline explosion. the palo alto weekly says that she challenged the commission president michael peavy's ability to be objective in this case. the cpuc was headed by peavy in 2010 when investigators found that agency partly at fault for the pipeline rupture. the explosion ultimately killing eight people and destroyed 38 homes. speaking of pg&e it has a new tool to try and prevent future disasters. later on this morning pg&e will demonstrate a gas leak detection system. it will be able to spot gas leaks within its thousands of miles of transmission and pipeline. pg&e has two of these devices in place, and is wrapping up tests to determine how they will perform. >> health care workers for one of the biggest hospitals are getting ready to stage a one-day strike. thousands of kaiser permanente employees are expected to walk off the job tomorrow, the fourth since negotiations began in 2010. workers are striking over proposed cuts to health and retirement benefits. the hospital will remain open during the strike. >> less than 24 hours and it's become a two-man race for the republican p
