on the significance of today's hearing, we're joined here in the studio by our legal analyst, michael cardoza. michael, always good to have you here. so thank you. today's hearing was focused on this critical piece of evidence. this is a piece of duct tape that was found on laci peterson's pants during the original autopsy. that was done. and now there's debate about where this new dna testing is going to happen. why does the lab where the retesting happens matter? >> well, certainly you want to do justice by having the right lab do it. but you also want to have the appearance. so if the attorneys are arguing about it, then later, if the results don't come back according to what they think it should, then they're going to say, well, see, you should have sent it to another lab. this is a decision that the judge has to make. now we know we were talking off air about the san francisco crime lab and the problems they have. other labs have had problems. so as i said, the judge has to do it. but what's important here, i think, is if they do find dna. all right, someone else's. what does that mean?
