george davis then turns his gun on michael carroll. >> george davis was in front of me, he raised the gun up and looked at me with almost like black, piercing eyes, seemed to look right through me. i started to turn around and was kind of hunched over and he shot me. the bullet had gone into right above my belly button. >> luckily, somebody pulls carroll back inside the bar before davis can shoot him again. but carroll's girlfriend at the time is still outside, and davis shoots her in the hip. soon after, he goes back to his car and drives off. davis drives through the montana night. the next morning, deputy bernie alstad pulls him over for speeding but before the deputy can get out of the car, davis attacks, shooting up his vehicle. alstad is wounded and davis is also hit but he gets away. that's when deputy conway gets the call that an officer is down, and he's nearly run off the road. montana trooper jason hildenstab joins conway in the chase. he's working an extra shift and just clocked in, so he's low on gas. >> that was going to be my first order of business, to go get my car fi

captured by a dash cam, you hear officer michael slager talking and laughing about how his adrenaline is pumping after he killed 50-year-old walter scott. jason carroll our report. >> reporter: more audio from the deadly shooting gives insight into what officer michael slager said after he shot walter scott. the recording capturing conversation between slager and another officer. >> everything is okay, okay? >> reporter: slager can be heard briefly explaining why he shot scott. later an officer tells slager what to expect. >> you're going to be off for a couple of days and we'll come back and interview you. i'm not going to ask you any kind of questions right now. >> okay. >> reporter: slager is then told his weapon will be taken, and that his official interview could be in a few days. slager is not heard expressing regret for what happened on the recording, but he is heard laughing a bit about the adrenaline rush following the shooting. >> probably be a good idea to kind of jot down your thoughts of what happened. >> okay. >> what you -- the adrenaline pumping and stuff. >> pumping. carroll has more on this investigation. >> reporter: this is the dash cam video from officer michael slager's patrol car. it shows what happened leading up to the traffic stop that ended in the deadly shooting. it shows slager following scott, who is driving a mercedes. slager pulls him over for a broken taillight. the officer then approaches scott's car. >> license and registration. >> reporter: slager returns to his patrol car. then for a moment, scott gets out. he's instructed to get back inside. but then moments later, scott makes a run for it. slager gives chase. the dash cam video does not show the struggle between scott and slager, nor the fatal shooting that followed. >> nothing in this video demonstrates that the officer's life or the life of another was threatened. and the question here is whether the use of force was excessive. [ gunfire ] >> reporter: slager is in jail tonight charged with murder. the man who shot the cell phone video coming forward wednesday. he told nbc news he was on his way to work when he saw a struggle between slager and scott. >> down the floor before the -- i started recording. they were down on the floor. i remember the police had control of the situation. had control of scott. and scott was trying just to get away from the taser. the taser -- you can hear the sound of the taser. >> reporter: the video starts as slager and scott appear to wrestle over an object, possibly that taser. the video shows an object falling to the ground as scott turns and runs. officer slager then pulls his gun and fires eight shots. according to scott's family, four strike him in the back. at no point is slager heard yelling a warning or stop. he just shoots. the video then shows slager calling for backup. >> shots fired. subject is down. he grabbed my

carolina that the dash cam video from officer michael slager's squad car is being released it is being brought to us. we should have it very shortly. jason carroll has been told by officials of the south carolina law enforcement division that the video shows basically the entire traffic stop including the moment when walter scott exited his vehicle and it ends with walter scott running away. that is an account we have gotten from officials at the south carolina law enforcement division. we hope to get more details later. also tonight, we have an exclusive new account from another witness who saw part of this confrontation. as the investigation into why officer michael slager shot at walter scott eight times continues, witnesses who saw the confrontation are now coming forward. >> i don't know if it was a fight but it was a tussle. when i came to the corner of the advance auto parking lot and saw them it was a tussle. >> reporter: this woman tells cnn in an exclusive interview she saw scott and officer slager shortly after scott was stopped in this parking lot for a broken taillight. >> the one thing that i didn't hear is mr. slager saying stop o
