for michael cohen, first off, what are students saying about fine's firing tonight?t must have been quite a shock. >> yeah, it was quite a shock. i was working on a group project when the announcement came from the chancellor. all three people i was working with were in shock, surprised. and it's definitely something no one was expecting at this point. you know, with, obviously, the new information that came out today, people's opinions started to change a little bit, but still, for the firing to take place on a sunday evening was surprising for everyone. >> michael, do you think the comparison to penn state is a fair one? >> no, i really don't. you know what we had at penn state, and i was down there reporting on that as well, what we had was a three-year grand jury report that produced a 23-page report that -- and there were charges filed against jerry sandusky. what we have to keep in mind, there are still no charges as of this point filed against bernie fine. that's something that's very important to consider. that's one of the biggest differences. you're also lo

michael cohen is the sports editor for "the daily orange." dependent student newspaper at syracuse. michael, what are these questions about? how is the university reacting versus what the athletic department is saying versus what the conflict is? >> the conflict lies with the fact that the alleged victims bobby davis made these claims back in 2005 and there was a full investigation conducted by syracuse university, as well as the syracuse police department and nothing was found. no wrongdoings. they couldn't cooperate his story and that's why it came back all of a sudden now in 2011 because his stepbrother, michael lang, came forward and said he, too, was just molested by bernie fine and that was the cooperation that i guess police were seeking in order to reopen the case. that is one of the big reasons why it has come back into the news now, compared to what the athletic department is saying. jim boeheim came forward and gave a statement that he is in full support of bernie fine and the allegations are totally false. he backed him 100% and we

michael cohen was at the game.s editor for "the daily orange" which is the student newspaper there. before we go to the post game, take us behind the scenes on the campus. you remember the whole penn state thing where in the beginning students didn't get it. do the students and the folks on the syracuse campus get this particular issue? >> reporter: well, i think what we found out on sunday has certainly changed a lot of people's minds up here in syracuse. when all of this started there was a lot of talk that this was fallout from penn state. a lot of people weren't sure whether or not they wanted to believe it, whether or not the stories of bobby davis and mike lang were, in fact, true. with the audio file that came out on sunday and the third accuser coming forward, i think people have started to change a little bit and kind of tilt towards the side of possibly believing this a little bit more than they were at first. as more information comes out, i'm sure that will continue to go that way. at least it seems tha
