my name is michael collins. i'm a registered nurse at university medical center in las vegas, nevada. university medical center is the only burn care center in the state of nevada and has the only level one trauma center in the state of nevada and it provides the only renal transplant center in the state of nevada and that is where i work. before the affordable care act, our hospital was chronically in debt, to the tune of at least $180 million every fiscal year. we are mandated by state law to treat all who come to our doors. regardless of their ability to pay. since the affordable care act, we have been able to provide services and extend our outpatient services because we have turned a profit of over $35 million in the last two years. now, with the repeal of the affordable care act, more than 371,000 nevadans stand a chance of losing their health care coverage. the leaders of the republican party are talking about taking away the affordable care act, but there is no plan in place to replace it. i would like t
