"today in new york's" michael gargiulo was at that vigil, and he's in san bernardino. michael, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, darlene. good to see you again. yeah, we were at that vigil last night in a stadium not far from here. it was very, very emotional. we're going to talk about that in a second. we also want to talk about what happened down the road from wh anere wa are on waterman avenue we learned in graphic detail what went on here. now we may be closer to learning not only how but why it happened. sources tell nbc news that syed farook appears to have been radicalized radicalized. he was in touch with people in los angeles with extreme views and also with people overseas who wanted to wage jihad here in erica. as for the attack itself, nbc ha o learned farook and his wife may have tried to modify one of the semiautomatic weapons they had to fire on full auto like a mal chine gun. that apparently did not work, but they were still able to unleash a barrage of up to 75 shots for people gathered there for a holiday party in a single room, leaving a grueso
