another national security book just read this summer, michael hayden, former national security directoralking about terrorism and its threats. this one is called playing to the edge about his time in the cia. same kind of venue. mostly history. as i say, sometimes current things. they read it this summer. it is the story of john hay and john nicollet, the two individuals that president lincoln before he was president back in illinois. .. you and i am fog to look for his books to continue to read. in fact i have several of them that i haven't read. now interested in doing so. this caught my attention because of the musical. the musical "hamilton," is based on this book. i happened to see it sitting in a bookstore. interesting to see what caught today's culture, today's audience with the musical, based upon the life of alexander hamilton, our first treasury secretary. this is probably the one i enjoyed the most. unfortunately the longest, and thickest. it often turns out to be that way. i'm often complaining that the thickest books seem to be the best.
