reappointed to the task force -- doug comstock, thomas picarello, bruce wolfe, hanley chan and michael kwan. thank you very much. chairperson kim: thank you, mr. nolte. >> good afternoon. my name is paul henderson. i have a lot of familiarity with the task force and i've worked with them over the years. there's a number of really strong candidates both that are reapplying and new candidates that are applying. so i was just here to -- in support of several of the new candidates that are coming in from different organizations. i'll be brief and who they are. kitt grant from the national black journalists association, which, i think it's important, you know. i know this is a city that embraces and welcomes diversity so i'm really excited to see the depth of the candidates that are coming here now to sit on this commission. also, david sims whom i've known for a long time, both from being active in the gay lesbian community but also in the legal community, i think he'll bring a depth of knowledge and commitment to the position. also, my friends from alice, outside of this building, who have bee

supervisor kim: next we have michael kwan. >> hello, supervisors.m currently the media manager at the center for asian micro media. i develop mobile apps to encourage more asian americans and to vote. i am interested in this task force, because i am interested in getting more people into this political process. i previously we worked for a website that worked with underserved populations, and i saw the need as a community manager to better engage with our user base. at the same time, i saw the need to expand beyond that audience, to reach people who needed translation and to -- and who may not be available because of work. i actually am chairing with a group that empowers and engages young voters. this past year, i started becoming more interested in politics when i found a coat hanger outside my apartment -- i started participating in these town halls and policies and solutions that make up our city. i was actually involved briefly with supervisor david chiu's race for mayor. i joined the board of asian pacific americans for progress. and so, as so

i was very impressed with the following people -- michael kwan who works with kim and does a lot of work around digital and electronic media. david pilpel who has served on us the re-districting task force and is incredibly knowledgeable, besides being able to cite our city charter, he has a strong commitment and his ability to attend meetings and commit to them is incredibly strong and i'd like to see him, as well. i think three committee members have expressed support for him and we can move forward with that seat. i'm also very supportive of bruce wolfe. i think supervisor campos has talked about our agreement i think with the sunshine task force on their interpretation of whether the city charter has stirs friction over the task force but i'm glad to see you're willing to work with us over revising those bylaws and i think it is important to have some level of consistency with the task force. i think it is important to have new blood on the ordinance, as well, but i would like to support bruce wolfe today. next, i was very impressed by louise fischer. i don't know you but my colleagu
