my name is michael nolte. i think it's great that something was done, that there was a working group created. but on the other hand -- let's make this clear. it was not the community involved, it was just the litigants. so it was a working group of the litigants or the people having dispute, but it was not the community. there are not community members per se, it was service providers there, also going after the pots of money that they could possibly receive from the library or other city entities to plant possibly more trees. why didn't you listen to what was originally said in january when it was discussed. it was me sending an e-mail, which the executive director gets us confused. i sent an e-mail to the commission staff saying that the link on the website was not right and you sent us the correct link so that some people, i saw the e-mail, could at least see the documents that were part of this possible idea. none of this discussed today at this hearing was there. so how can people really be prepared to di

first, i want to point out that my name is michael nolte and i am a citizen planner, it means i don't get paid. first, there were none of the protests in the packet. there was mentioning of 18 letters of protest. i think that is -- it is only wise that the decision-makers understand why the people have protested. also, for those that maybe don't know in the audience and maybe maybe everywhere else, there are currently -- lawmakers are planning to change the d.u.i. limit from 0.0820.05 and that would be on a state-level. state level. that would mean that people who like to -- you like this establishment would probably have to give out less alcohol to its patrons because they would probably be leaving their establishment drunk. these are considerations because for the committee to understand that there's possible changes that will be occurring that will affect new licenses going forward. the other item i wanted to bring out is on the agenda, they mentioned that the chair will entertain this motion and refer to the full board. it makes it sort of sound like it has already been decided, a

my name is michael nolte, i'm native san franciscan. i've done a lot of things in san francisco, one of them being program director of organization of coalition of residents. and you know, one of the issues we have here is that a large number of the people that live in san francisco are renters and renters have rights, too. it's unfortunate that a lot of times, yes, owners can do certain things and they have more money, but the average renter does not necessarily know all the rules and when something happens within their building, they have to figure out, what is going on and how to fix it and how to make things amenable to them. i think, yes, maybe a lot of the city departments say, okay, well, everything is hunky-dory, but the real issue here is a renter is now thinking about, well, this place is going to be turned into a condo. and that changes the makeup of the building. the building will be two condos, or more later on, and that means it's a higher paid parcel. so the owner makes out of the property makes out. so we see this kind o
