michael pillsbury, an outside adviser to the white house on all things china trade, thinks we shouldpresident is going now. he said yesterday and this is reported in the chinese media that tariffs on china could go to 50% or 100%. when i read that, i double checked to make sure he actually said that. what would that mean for the u.s. economy in. >> well, actually, at 25% or so, the tariffs for most products are what we call lockout. so people are going to buy it from some other country. and so once you get to a lockout level you can go to 1,000% and it won't have an extra effect because you've already made them buy it from vietnam or some other place. when there's a trade war going on, sometimes you see people start to lift tariffs to really high levels in part because they've already chased all the business away. so if you chase it away a little more with some kind of signal that you are really pissed off, it doesn't have an economic effect. especially the stuff at the beginning like the first $50 billion or so that you can probably go high without having much of an effect. >> thank
