michael roberts went through the metal detector.airports but we shouldn't use full-body scanners and pat downs as the first method of screening, no. >> michael roberts, as somebody as a pilot who flies more than the average person by far, would you feel skeecure about the ide that there were not these kind of security procedures in place? >> well, i don't consider these security procedures at all. and i would feel much more secure if i didn't have to bare all or be felt up when i go to work every day. >> so, what is the alternative? because, obviously, you recognize that there is a threat? >> yes. and i want to point out that i'm not against airline security. i actually taught the tsa mandated security program at the airline to my fellow pilots. the rules are important when the rules are just and make sense. but in this case, yeah, we need to use an intelligence-based security system based on best practices that are proven over time to work. in this case, this is, this is, frankly, just a, kind of a quick way to spend a lot of stimu

joining me michael roberts one of two commercial airline pilots suing department of homeland securitytsa claiming the new procedures violate their constitution rights. his lawyer is also here. welcome aboard. john tell us about the lawsuit. >> well, it is a 4th amendment lawsuit. under our constitution, the 4th amendment protects us against unreasonable searches and seizures. in this country we have never allowed government agents, police or people that work for the government to conduct full body strip searches which is what the body scanners do, or pat-downs unless there's some kind suspicion of criminal activity. none of that is available here. that's what is happening. the question is, does our constitution protect us or does it not? >> sean: michael you and another pilot refused to submit to either full body scan or the enhanced pat-down. tell us what happened? >> well, it is a simple, i was commuting to work in houston where i'm based. i was stop add:the way by federal agent. -- i was stopped along the way by a federal agent. they wanted to see my penis, i told them that was not

michael steele. let's hear some from you. you met with president obama yesterday. we now know the weekend before the 2006 midterm elections president bush was preparing for a midcourse correction and firing rumsfeld and hiring robert gates as secretary of defense. what kind of midcourse correction can we expect from president obama? >> well, george, look, that's for the president to announce but not me. what i can say is we were out in cleveland at a great rally together and flew back together. the president is upbeat about the rallies and how they've gone and the energy. and he's also very, very happy with the work that's been done by democrats out in the field. he has a good sense of perspective about the challenge of midterm elections and about the need going forward to make some adjustments and corrections, and you'll see those play out over the course of the next few weeks. but he's got a good sense of accomplishments. pride in accomplishments but understands that now is the time to make the changes. >> what changes do you think the democrats has to make? >> look, i'll let the president talk about what should be done at the white house. i think the democrats going forward, they need to be proud of the preside
