i hear that michael strahan is making his way back here just to see mariah.nes this morning starting with the alert of the thanksgiving travel rush. more than 54 million people expected to hit the roads and skies this morning. let's go back to gio benitez. he's there at laguardia airport in new york with the latest. good morning again, gio. >> reporter: good morning again to you. we're looking at the busiest thanksgiving travel week in 13 years and it starts right now. most people will be traveling by car, so take a look at these numbers right now, because 48.5 million people are expected to hit the road. that's an increase of 5% from last year. 2.4 million more people are expected to drive. now in the air, the tsa is expecting a recordbreaking thanksgiving season with 25 million passengers expected to fly. that's 137,000 more people flying daily which means, of course, they're going to need more than 1,000 additional officers. the busiest day to travel, this is what everybody wants to know, wednesday. the best day to travel, thursday, thanksgiving day itself
