michael wolfe testified in his first deposition that they had no answer machine. that there was nobody there. keith morrison: but as the defense prepared for trial in december of 2010, something changed. there was new evidence discovered. laney bandel was the prosecutor who inherited the case. and that new evidence was what we consider a jailhouse snitch. and he came forward and stated that michael wolfe told him he had fabricated the entire story about barbara participating in the murder of david jackson. keith morrison: that particular jailhouse snitch was well known, the da said. mostly for the false information he provided. still, after three years in jail it was enough to get barbara released and placed on house arrest, pending trial. and then, prosecutor bandel met michael wolfe to ask him about testifying against barbara. didn't go well. the blow came to me when he said, what am i getting in return? what will my sentence be reduced to? keith morrison: now the state reassessed its options. i think with any case you're taking a 50/50 chance. the lack of foren

michael saylor, at 2:00 p.m. eastern on fox business. an appeals court on the west coast just ruled the us can deport illegal immigrants even if local governments oppose those removals. chad wolf me now. does this mean trump can get around sanctuary cities rules? >> well i think this is obviously a win for the incoming trump administration and i think what this validates is the ability for i.c.e. to do their job, to remove individuals, bad individuals from the country, regardless of what local jurisdictions may or may not do to help them do that. it's federal immigration law and they have the ability to execute on that law so it's a good ruling for them. stuart: how long before the concept of the migrant sanctuary is just out of bounds? i think the whole sanctuary idea is losing steam. it's nearing its end. what say you? >> well i think you're right, stuart. i think what you see in places like new york, right, you've got mayor adams saying he wants to sit down with tom homan and talk about how they can work together to remove dangerous individuals from their city streets and i think once you've got blue city mayors that start to understand what is going on here and how those i

sure, michael, was trump being honest with the american people when he said he would bring grocery prices down? >> i mean, i think he was honest in terms of wanting to bring grocery prices down, wolft if you look at the data that just came out of this cpi consumer price index rose around 2.3%. so there are some indications across the economy, and a lot of economists appear to agree. there's general consensus here that the strategies that were put in place maybe 60 days ago, or let's say the third quarter, right? we're in the last quarter of this year haven't necessarily yielded the results that the fed chair would have hoped for. and so my question becomes, what type of economy will the president elect be walking into once he's ultimately sworn in? and what strategies will republicans attempt to put in play to do what the president argued he would do for several months, which is to bring down that price and cost of living for the american people. >> let me get kate bedingfield into this conversation. do you see an opening, kate, for democrats right now, now that trump is seemingly backing away from his promise, his pledge to bring prices down? oh, absolutely. >> i mean, the presid
