that individual, 32-year-old michael zehaf-bibeau according to the cbc, this individual had a history of drug use before he converted to islam a number of arrests. he changed his name from michael joseph hall. now, both names are being put into the databases here into the us to see if he crops onto any watch lists. terrorist watch groups. in the meantime there are still a number of buildings in and around parliament hill that remain in lock down. heavily armed officers are going from building to building room to room to search for any other possible suspects. authorities aren't saying if they believe there are other suspects. they're taking no chances. some of these people have been trapped inside these buildings for eight and a half hours. they're being told to stay in those rooms and they could be there for many hours yet to come. the gunman himself he was dressed in black. carried a rifle. shot a soldier who was guarding the canadian war memorial just across from the parliament building point-blank in the chest. that gunman had his face covered with a scarf. the victim, the soldier
