let's turn to michelle grossman who's got the details on the colder than normal temperatures across parts of the u.s. good morning. >> those snow men are going to be frozen solid. because we are looking at frigid temperatures. it's not just the plains to the mid atlantic that saw the snow. we're looking at cold weather all the way to the south. houston, new orleans, jacksonville, tampa, richmond under these cold weather advisories. this is why we are waking up to cold temperatures. 36 in houston. 28 in roswell. 36 in tallahassee. most of the country seeing this really cold air. wilmington 36. on top othat, we have the winds blowing, so it feels colder than the actual air temperature. we are looking at that cold blast throughout much of the country. temperatures only in the teens in minneapolis, miles city, 22 in denver. you factor in the winds, it's going to feel colder than that. down to the south we're looking at temperatures in the 30s in dallas. just 57 in tampa. and that will be t same story tomorrow. frances, we'll talk more about this cold and the great lakes. >> michelle, thank yo

here's our north america business correspondent michelle fleury.ivered a record number of cars in the final three months of last year, 495,570 vehicles to be precise, but that figure was short of the number it needed to beat its 2023 full year performance. for all of 2024 tesla delivered 1.79 million vehicles worldwide, down about 1% from last year, the first time the company has reported this kind of drop. part of the problem is increased competition. chinese rival byd said this week that its electric car sales grew double digits last year to about 1.76 million globally. and it's notjust chinese ev makers snapping at its heels. legacy global car makers like gm, volkswagen and hyundai are also vying for market share. tesla has responded to slowing demand for evs by cutting vehicle prices in china and the us. elon musk has also pivoted the company to focus on robotics and artificial intelligence, but that is still a ways off. for now, tesla remains dependent on car sales to make money. shares in tesla fell 6% on the news, but it is worth noting that
