. >> we want to talk to trump supporter michelle bachmann who is with us now. thank you so much for being with us. we appreciate it. first and foremost to get your thoughts and your opinions on what we've heard from donald trump over the last 24 hours. >> good morning, thank you for having me on again. i think that what we've been hearing last friday night is actually pretty predictable. the clinton campaign had to change the conversation because she had a lot of really bad news this week. and so this 11-year-old bad boy locker room talk, this is how she wanted to do it. she's trying to tell the media what she wants them to focus on, the questions she wants anderson cooper and people in the room to ask her on sunday night. that's what this is about. she had some very bad news. >> i'm sure you're talking about the leaked e-mails. we are going to talk about that a little bit later this hour. how do you say -- are you saying she was behind this tape being leaked? >> what i'm saying is that these things are coordinated to manipulate the media. that's exactly what's

michelle bachmann, really deflecting there. but you are hearing others in republican leadership who are releasing very strong comments from, you know, mike lee to jason chaffetz. what's your response about bachmann's response and others? >> i think her approach really highlights how difficult donald trump's remarks are to defend. and that's why many republicans are simply saying they are indefensible and should apologize. these are the worst comments you can make about a woman basically condoning sexual assault. you know, trying to defend that sort of thing seems like a fool's errand. that's why many republicans are condemning them rather than going the route of trying to make any sense of them. and what donald trump did last night makes that a little easier, sort of, taking responsibility for what he said, apologizing for it. but the road ahead is still very hard for republicans and trump from a messaging standpoint. for obvious reasons because these remarks are so shocking to many people and so unacceptable to many people. >>
