michelle charlesworth is outside of the church. >> the past was pretty amazing but take a look at the damage. give you a live look at this. so many people have been pulling over their cars, just mouths open, in shock at what's left of the fixture here in englewood. people are heart broken over the fire destroying it in holy week. this fire starting around 8:00. the fire tore through the chapel, tore down hand-carved giant beautiful support beams that carried the weight of the slate covered roof. the flames also broke out the stained glass windows including one tiffany window. this church was built in 1870. the pastor tells me there was no fire damage to the bottom floor or the basement but those are now under several feet of water from fighting this fire. last week the pastor told jim dolan he was ready to worship in a parking lot if need be but turns out he will not have to. for the outpouring of support. we've had offers from churches, synagogues, civic organizations to use their space as we need. that's been tremendously gratifying. >> they've sought you out. >> yes. my phone has b

michelle charlesworth is in jersey city with the story. >>reporter: this young woman, david, was chase and shot and killed in a car where she was trying to find safety early this morning around 7:30 here on monitor street in jersey city. the police are still looking for a gunman. this happened next to a six johnson and monitor. the victim had been sitting in a white hyundai with the gunman. there was an apparent argument. she ran, he ran after her and she tried to seek help or shelter from a stranger sitting in the honda, the car removed from the scene with shut out windows the woman driver and the honda had nothing to do with this. she parked to head to work. connection. whatsoever. that woman was parking her car to go to work and the other girl was running from down the block, up the block, saw the woman in the car and went for help. that is how she got caught. >> she was trying to get help from the woman. >> they don't know each other. >>reporter: this shooting happened around 7:30 this morning. the woman was shot in that honda sitting

michelle charlesworth is there with the story. >>reporter: this is such a tragedy. this started as a domestic dispute in a car down the street behind me. a woman ran for her life out of the car, running halfway up the block. trying to get help from a total stranger who was parking her car on her way to. >> she was gasping for air. she didn't there was no movement. when the police officer came, he moved her. you saw she was breathing, after, that she was lifeless. i think they were parked down that block and jng happened between them in the car and she tried to get away. >> this honda is a car desiree ramsey says she sees parked by a woman. this is when what she was doing when another woman, afraid for her life ran for the car. >> something happened and she tried to get away she didn't and like i said, this building right here. you have a lot of commerce. you get all types of building that come through here now because you have the light rail. >> the shooting happened around 6:30 at monitor and johnston in jersey city. police called it a tragic end to a domestic disp

eyewitness news reporter michelle charlesworth is in the bronx to tell us more. michelle? >> reporter: now, the adult, as you will hear admit, they did were grieving was the mother of eight boys, many grandkids, many more great grandkids. she passed away from cancer back in december. they didn't realize they had mourned and cremated the wrong person until the funeral home, this place behind me, reached out to them. they do admit that the woman in the casket was a remarkable likeness. that's what they admit. they also point out she was wearing her clothing and her jewelry, plus, everyone was grieving, so their eyes were, to be frank, full of tears. listen to what one 10-year-old grandson said. >> he said, came up and said, that don't look like grandma. >> they don't hold it back. >> my granddaughter, whew, she went through it and said grand daddy, what they done with grandma? she took it hard. >> reporter: the entire family has taken it hard. valuedine mcdonald, then the mix-up, the wrong woman mourned, then interred. relatives came from as far away as australia. turns out

. >> i'm michelle charlesworth. looking outside and watching folks walking around. >> good looking day. nothing wrong with that. >> meteorologist amy freeze with the good news this morning. >> it looks good and feels good outside. we have a chilly start in the suburbs with temperatures that were actually subfreezing. low 40s feels good outside. we can see 1 world trade and we'll see beautiful skies like this through the middle of the day, really into the early afternoon before clouds start to drift back into the forecast. so 47 currently. we look at numbers that were really northwest of us with temperatures that started bounced up. it's low 40s. we're 33 for mount olive. stillwater is 38 degrees. one of the colder spots holding else. out on the island, 47 for brentwood. belmar 46 degrees for you. we watch these numbers and compare them to 24 hours ago. it is significantly cooler, we afternoon. so a southerly wind will take over, and that will take our temperatures into the 50s. we're forecasting a high of 60 degrees
