i'm michelle griego. >> hi, everyone. i'm frank mallicoat. breaking news in san mateo. multiple pedestrians hit near the hillsdale mall. len ramirez is live on the phone at the scene. what's happening? >> reporter: i'm at the hillsdale west hillsdale boulevard and steven road here in san mateo. and there has been a major accident involving a vehicle into four pedestrians on the sidewalk at 10:30 this morning as a black acura was driving westbound on hillsdale boulevard and veered on to the sidewalk, where there were three teenagers and one adult female in her 20s walking also in the same direction. they were hit from behind. the windshield was broken. so major injuries. the driver of the vehicle a man in his 50s as well as all of the pedestrians have been taken to the hospital. we have no word on their conditions. it looks like there was a lot of blood lost here on the pavement and we're talking about some major injuries. so major injury investigation is ongoing here by the san mateo police department. >> len, can you describe the neighborhood there? it's very close to
