i'm michelle griego. >> i'm kenny choi. parents at a middle school are rallying this morning to get a student expelled after he made threats at his former school. parents are now demanding that the district take some action. >> reporter: these parents say they want something done after the student reportedly threatened to kill students at his former middle school back in june. last night parents and students attended a school board meeting so crowded people sat on the floors and lined the walls waiting to give the board a piece of their mind. they say the boy threatened to kill 30 students at valley view school and posted the threats on snapchat. the fbi did investigate. >> the elected district attorney has not charged this child with a crime. who are we, the uninformed parents, to judge him when we have none of the facts. >> we don't want this child in our school. >> reporter: ultimately he was not charged and was instead transferred to sequoia middle school. in a letter to parents, the superintendent wrote authorities fou

i'm kenny choi. >> and i'm michelle griego. time now is 6:30.he trump administration is now weighing in on a plan aimed at helping drug addicts in san francisco. kpix 5's anne makovec joins us live with the growing debate over the safe injection sites p frsco is given an exemption to state law to allow this, which is one step away from happening, the safe injection sites are still illegal under federal law and we all know that california has had a history over the past couple of years of going head to head with the federal government. so that's a battle that is brewing. in the meantime, there's going to be a demonstration of the injection sites available to the public at glide memorial in the tenderloin today. at mayor is going to take a tour a little later on this morning. it's a pilot program that would allow drug addicts to shoot up under the supervision of trained staff equipped with life- saving equipment and antidotes in case someone overdoses. it would be a clean safe environment as opposed to a back alley with clean needles to reduce the

i'm michelle griego. >> good morning. i'm kenny choi. it is 6:00 on the dot. john has a traffic alert in the east bay but neda first has the weather forecast. >> it's smooth sailing when it comes to the weather. high clouds and fog in the north bay and things are warming up. so let's get to the live camera. set up in san jose and this one showing that we do have clouds across san jose the south bay today but you should see that sunshine sooner. the ridge is building. that's the ridge of high pressure from southern california. we'll see temperatures reaching normal for today staying warm through labor day and, in fact, next week also going to see some warm conditions as temperatures rise especially inland. still along the coast, we'll have that continued cloud coverage and the west winds will keep temperatures at the beaches pretty normal. but inland community you will start to notice a change. right now we're looking at cloud coverage and, yes, a little bit of drizzle may pop up here and there. you may see that on the roads here. i do want to show you visibili
