joining us now with more, nbc news meteorologist michelle grossman, it seems like you cannot get a weekendould people know about the storm? >> i know. we're looking at this morning, 6:15 on the carolina coast. this 70-mile-per-hour winds. that's a strong tropical, storm merely a tropical level. we're looking at winds of 50 miles per, hour so we'll be talking about this all we can, long because it's a relatively slow-moving storm, it's going to keep its strength during the day, and bring a whole lot of rain and wind in lots of spots. take a look at the track here, we're looking at the rainfall, in where you see those, bends the collars, the oranges, that's where we're seeing the heaviest rainfall, and so we're looking at flooding over the weekend, the carolinas, the mid-atlantic, the northeast, then eventually into new england's. this is what it looks like now. we're looking a 50-mile-per-hour winds. that's going to bring more power outages, we have a ton of them already. we're going to see more as we go throughout this weekend. we're really not going to be done with us until monday. it's m

joining us now is nbc's kristen dahlgren in concord, new hampshire, and michelle grossman, nbc meteorologistds here in concord, we have three days in the 90s, like they're forecasting, that constitutes a heat wave, that would be the eighth time in recorded hftry that there has been a heat wave in september. so, really extreme temperatures that we're talking about. and it is making schools around the country pivot a little bit as many kids are going back to school last week, this week. some schools having to shut down completely, go back to virtual learning for a little while because it is just too hot and there is no air conditioning. here in concord, they're checking the temperatures as we go through the day. yesterday they had to cancel some of the after school sports or postpone them. they had to put recesses indoors to keep the kids safe. they have more water cooling stations out for children. so they're really having to lock at the safety of kids because these temperatures can get really dangerous as we move through the day. it is expected to feel like it is in the mid to high 90s here.
