michelle grossmann is tracking the potential for severe weather, morning, michelle >> hi there, guys, we've been stuck in this pattern for days we're going to see the threat for more severe weather. it would be in the southern high plains, but we're looking at lots of rain in the inner mountain west, central and southern plains into the south i.c.e., a east this is the setup. we're looking at a coastal low spinning off the coast bringing showers and high rainfall rates. think of those summer-like downpours. we're going to see that over the next few days. that could lead to localized flooding and we're looking at 2 to 4 inches of rain. notice the carolina coast, not a great beach day on saturday. heavy rain along the coast of nierk, also south carolina, also looking at the chance for heavy rain in portions of the inner mountain west into the in the 8e southern plains. a warm one in the a warm one in bsoutheast. unfortunately, we're stuck in this stormy setup. will it impact our holiday weekend, our travel? we'll talk about that coming up. >>> after the break, what america's credit rati

nbc meteorologist michelle grossmann is here with our friday forecast. good friday morning, michelle. >> good friday morning, guys unfortunately, later half of the weekend we're going to see soggy conditions in the south. we're washout in thee washout ie carolinas. it's just off the coast but will get closer seeing scattered showers in florida today, and then we're going to see some really heavy rain in the carolinas tomorrow, also kicking up the surf with a rip current risk and really gusty waves. as we go throughout the day, the low pressure slowly tracking northward and tomorrow it's going to be a miserable day at the beaches in the carolinas with possible flooding, rip current risks, rough surf along the coast. and sunday, soggy still, breezy for much oe again we're looking at the chance for some showers and thunderstorms. could be strong to severe in the southern high plains, especially in lubbock and amarillo. all right, it's almost the weekend. we're going to take a look at that memorial day forecast in just a bit, including the beaches. >> definit
