luna launched in hamburg, germany. it featured rides created by more than 30 artists, including keith haring, jean-michel basquiat, davidand roy lichtenstein. now the concept was the brainchild of austrian artist and curator andre heller. when it closed after just a few short months, the rides were packed into 44 shipping containers and sold. make a long story short, they finally ended up in texas. forgotten until now. luna. luna. forgotten fantasy has been resurrected in downtown los angeles, and it has many of the original attractions like basquiat painted ferris wheel or keith haring's carousel and salvador dali's mirrored funhouse pavilion. it's important to note that the attractions are fragile and they're not available to ride anymore. it's art people. if you're interested in seeing this unique piece of history, it'll be open through the spring. that's it for this edition of matter of fact, i'm soledad o'brien. i'll see you back here next week to watch more stories like this any time, head to matteroffacttv. leave.
