here's michelle miller. >> reporter: 39-year-old kevin richardson spent nearly seven years of his lifeime he didn't commit. >> you all don't really understand what we went through. they try to dehumanize us as human beings, but we're still here. >> reporter: in 1989, richardson was one of five teen-aged boys arrested for the brutal rape of a 28-year-old white female jogger in new york's central park. the crime drew national headlines and polarized the city along racial lines. richard santana was 14 years old. >> these people had their mind fixated on us being guilty. we have tried everything we possibly could to prove our innocence. >> reporter: they were convicted in two separate trials, even though the victim had no memory of the attack and there was no dna evidence linking them to the crime. the case was built on videotaped confessions. attorneys for the men said police and prosecutors pressured them into implicating each other. yusef salaam was 15 years old. >> i met richard santana in prison. we didn't know each other. >> we didn't know each other. >> and they painted this picture

michelle miller shows us what airlines are doing about a spike in out-of-control flyers. good morning. >> good morning. the incident happened shortly after the plane took off. the captain says it diverted the flight to detroit out of an abundance of caution. the outburst took place with the passenger yelling on his feet in a foreign language. his family tried to hold him back. but he lunn mged forward at a flight attendant who managed to restrain him. another crew member bound his wrists with plastic cuffs but the passenger still managed to kidnap his own daughter. the man was taken to the back of the plane and strapped into an empty row of seats away from other passengers as the captain rerouted the flight to detroit. since 2007 airlines have reported 28,000 incidents involved unruly passengers. almost a third, 8,000, came in the last year alone. alcohol is often to blame says cbs travel news editor peter greenberg. >> a lot of them are stressed and when left to their own resources a lot of them drink. >> reporter: in november a man was escort off a spirit airlines flight

michelle miller is at a starbucks in new york city, where customers are bracing for the jolt. porter: good morning. well, the announcement comes as consumers are paying more for a whole host of everyday items. starbucks wouldn't comment on the price hikes but they do say it coincides with the rising cost of coffee beans. coffee drinkers could be in for a rude awakening on tuesday. starbucks says many of its drinks will require a little bit of pocket change. in some shops grande and venti will go up 15 to 20 tall and venti lattes, mocha dris, 15 cents to 20 cents. tay say it's due to the drought in south america. >> they're paying more for coffee and they want to pass the cost on to the consumer so it doesn't affect their bottom line. >> they say 20% of the customers on average will be affected. >> starbucks customer tend to be an affluent customer. are tla going to stop buying coffee because they go there every day and the price went up by a dime. the answer is no. >> the price of a 12-ounce pack object of its coffee beans will go up a dollar matching recent increases by folger
