i'm michelle miller. president trump's plan to impose stiff new tariffs on imported steel and aluminum has set off shock waves within the white house, the republican party, and the financial markets. the first casualty of the tariffs was the president's top economic adviser, carry cohn, he resigned. president trump is expected to officially sign off on the new tariffs at noon today. many in the own party are looking for ways to water down the plan. but, what about the people directly affected? i traveled to pennsylvania to get the view from steel country. >> reporter: wheatland, pennsylvania is home to one of the largest steel pipe makers in north america. zeckleman has more than a dozen plants like this in the u.s. >> there is 275 feel. >> ceo, barry zeckleman plans to add hundred of jobs in wheatland alone and pick up production if trump's 25% tariff on foreign steel becomes reality. >> steel is the backbone. we can be the backbone again. what we could do is employ a lot more people. we could be proud t

here is michelle miller with more on this. >> reporter: the first case was on march 6 when a contagious passenger flew from an unknown origin abroad to detroit metropolitan airport. the second on march 12th. a young child arrived at newark liberty international airport from brussels, then went to memphis. the new jersey department of health is warning anyone who was in terminal b or c at newark between 2:45 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on monday to seek medical attention if they develop symptoms. just how contagious is this? >> it's super contagious. it's spread through the air. >> reporter: i brought cbs news' chief medical correspondent dr. jon lapook with me to newark airport. >> if you just touch the screen you can pick up the measles virus if it happens to be there. the good news is somebody who's here today doesn't have to worry because the measles virus only lasts for two hours or less, either on a surface or in the air. >> reporter: so that's everyone who was here on march 12th needs to be concerned? >> they said it was within like 12:45 and like 9:00 or so. >> reporter: i was here. >> re

michelle miller reports he caught a cab. not the plane. 31-year-old was last seen here, terminal four at kennedy airport. he had just escaped from immigration officials, just before they were going to place him on a connecting flight back to senegal. officials say he bolted from three ice agents after they removed his handcuffs at the security checkpoint. the suspect was able to dodge the agents long enough to exit the terminal. he was last seen on surveillance video hopping into a cab. authorities say he was convicted in 2012 of two felony firearm offenses and three years in prison in michigan. in 2015, a judge ordered his deportation after he violated the terms of status to. day, state police troopers armed with rifles were posted outside of terminal four. while the suspect described as a violent deportee is still on the loose. at one point today, jeff, there were state troopers here at terminal 4 armed with rifles. because mbacke is violent. authorities are urging anyone who comes into contact with him to call them immedi
