michelle pounder along the peninsula blue skies and you know what, michelle? you're pretty spot on because that's what we are seeing out our window off our kpix 5 studios looking towards the golden gate bridge. how often do you get to see this? wall to wall sunshine from the coast to our inland areas. the flag is not even on the fly. the winds are slight. here's the scene from lick observatory looking towards the santa clara valley. clear skies. another view, wow, this time 24 hours from sausalito looking towards san francisco we were socked in with condensation, a little bit of light drizzle was on our camera lens. meanwhile let's traverse over now to the eastern portion of the bay area. looking out towards the city of san francisco, and where we have the university of california at berkeley. lawrence hall of science reporting nothing but sunshine. the marine layer has cleared out. we are going to have close to normal temperatures. this is the area of low pressure. this has been so incredible to watch over the past couple of days because it's spinning its whe

i want to share a photograph sent to us by michelle pounder. it illustrates the wispy fibrous thread-like clouds. when you see that, there's gusty winds at that level. compare that with what's going on outdoors right now. we have a few of those clouds as seen as we take a sneak peek towards mount diablo where currently throughout the tri- valley it's 78 degrees. here's another view from lick observe tore. we have a stack of clouds still left over from this morning's marine layer. the coast is not clear. this is the scene in the north bay from sausalito towards san francisco. a little drizzle on the camera lens from that deep marine layer. the scene from the lawrence hall of science, we have that marine layer, slow to clear out very mild temperatures, as well. this is a beautiful illustration of our satellite imagery. this is the center of an upper- level area of low pressure this is the front. this has precipitation associated with it. the rain is evaporating before it hits land. we have an enhanced marine layer. high pressure thursday, then we

michelle pounder sent this photograph in and i love it!s was yesterday, and what you're looking at is these high, thin cirrus clouds. they are always very thread- like. this gives you a good indication about 6,000 feet in elevation you're looking at a change in the weather as far as your wind flow is concerned. that was the case yesterday with the southwest and westerly winds. this morning, that wind is pretty vigorous out of the west 10 to 20. it's causing that marine layer to push onshore. and it's also causing some drizzle to scatter around the coast and the bay and even locally inland a good 20 to 25 miles. our temperatures are in the 50s and 60s a little cooler than 24 hours ago. our temperatures mix them up with the winds, currently out of the southwest at 12. we have a little bit of a brisk feeling in the air. 8-mile-per-hour winds in vallejo. 20 in fairfield. winds will be out of the west 10 to 20 miles per hour late day today. so we are kick-starting with a gray start. we'll end up with sunshine and much warmer weather by the end
