what happened in michigan?t do you think has been the effect on the state, because of the way gerrymandering worked in your state? >> well, as a member of the legislature in 2001, the republicans controlled the state senate and governor's offices and saw the consequences. the kind of numbers you just showed are exactly what we've seen in michigan and key states around the country, where voters choose democrats, but end up with republican majorities in the state legislatures and in the state capitals. and we've seen the associated policy attacks on women's health, on voting rights, on collective bargaining and workers' rights, immigrants and minorities, and they are playing their agendas out in state capitals, but also, as you noted, in 36 states, the legislatures draw congressional maps. and those 36 states draw districts for 300 in 36 congressional seats. these key states you mentioned are early targets for us in advantage 2020. and what's unique is the democratic-led campaign committee is taking a long-term t

a critical issue in michigan and around the nation. in michigan, we blocked more than 700,000 cyberattacks daily. to combat these attacks, we launched the 2015 michigan cyber initiative. this effort is focused on detection raising public , awareness, leveraging our state's awareness, and creating partnerships to create a cyber threat alert network. this issue cannot be taken lightly. when i present my fiscal year 2016 budget, a recommended $7 million investment to strengthen our cyber security efforts. every day state governments face threats to their computer systems and online networks. as cochair for the nga research center for state cyber security, i am working with others to address these threats on a national scale. it is imperative that we understand the growing threat of cyber security in our country. by moving forward together, we will be able to better protect our citizens from technological threats. next you will be watching a video about how easy it is for a third-party to attack a state network. this video was put together

just west of detroit is michigan state university with almost 40,000 students.n 1990, michael mcfletcher was an undergraduate student there with hopes of one day becoming a lawyer. at a campus social event, mcfletcher met leann miezner. who wasn't a student but was a telemarketer who worked nearby. for both, it was love at first sight and they were inseparable. >> it was great. three years later in september of 1993, nick and leann married. >> it was great. he was going to be a lawyer, so he'd make a lot of money, be able to buy her a nice house, and she wanted to stay home and have a lot of babies. >> that's how she wanted a life. since she was a little girl, all she wanted to do was get married and have children. >> the newlyweds settled in hazel park, a working class suburb just north of detroit. they bought this house on hazel wood avenue and nick started law school. leann worked to support them and not long afterwards the couple had a daughter hannah. >> she was her joy. she was just crazy about hannah. >> by 1999, mick was an up and coming criminal defense
