chief correspondent mick joining me now. mick, what does this new plan really mean?o mystery that iran would object to this plan because it's all about keeping iran in check. once all those military combat troops leave iraq at the end of the year. when talks between the u.s. and iraq broke down in keeping some u.s. forces in iraq, the pentagon astarted to scramble t figure out, what does the u.s. military need to do to keep that buffer, to keep that check on iran there in the gulf area? so what they're looking at is sending several thousand combat forces into kuwait just as a reminder that even though the combat troops are leaving iraq, the americans' military is still there to stay. and i must emphasize that this would not be a major plus-up in u.s. military forces. there are already 40,000 forces in the region at any given time. the u.s. has a naval base at bahrain and an air base at cutter, so the u.s. has had a sturdy presence there since 1992, and this is just a reminder to iran that the u.s. isn't going anywhere. >> mick from the pentagon force. mick, thank you
