host: it is helpful that you have a former member with mick mulvaney as the director of omb. let's take a look at some of the things -- the top line things that we are seeing so far from the rfc. your budget pending proposal would have $680 billion for defense and $394 billion for nondefense. it would also "break the firewall to prioritize defense." when we stop there for a moment and ask you about that. what does that mean? guest: over the last years, we have a deterioration for the department of defense in not just budgeting but influence or impact across the board. to give you a specific example, a lot of our brigades are down. when it talks about readiness, that's a term that the defense uses a lot. our readiness is very weak right now. over the 500 brigades that need to fight tonight, only three are equipped. koreat some time in south on some of our bases and they have been pretty depleted. we have to plus up some of that to get back and get traction again and make sure that we are protecting america like we should. host: do you feel like your numbers that you are propos
