joining me now from jerusalem is mickey rosenfeld. what can you tell us? >> what i can confirm is just after 9:30 israeli time, an hour and a half ago, two terrorists opened fire using automatic weapons in a very busy restaurant area in the area of tel aviv. we received no warnings that a terror attack was going to take place. immediately special patrol units in the area responded, engaged and made contact with the terrorists. one of the terrorists was shot at the scene and arrested and the second terrorist was surrounded and arrested. they are both being questioned as to see where they came in from, where they managed to get into the area from. that's part of the ongoing investigation. and over the last hour, in fact, our police units have been searching across the different areas. the market area, the open stores area to make sure that there's no third terrorist in the area. until now, we've confirmed there's no further threat in the area to any of the civilians and we're carrying out security assessments as to how these suspects, the terrorists got into

mickey rosenfeld is tweeting about this saying that the shooting is in the area, they've cleared everyone but security personnel, it sounds like. police units have mobilized all around. the suspect is now in custody according to security personnel on scene. we've not been given any information about this suspect just yet. but we are getting some details, jerusalem post also speaking of this suggesting that very little information specifically about the person who is responsible. but i do know israeli forces had been on somewhat of a heightened alert in recent weeks. and this idea that they would be hit in tel aviv certainly we've seen it many, many times in the more distant past, but in recent months and years tel aviv at least in large part had not seen this sort of thing. but this happened right in the very heart of tel aviv. the latest information i've given you should anything more come in we'll get it to you. i'm confident that in the next few minutes we're going to be able to get information about whoever this suspect is what the motivations may have been, who the wounded are and ho
