peter: one of the companies that has a pretty robust presence here in washington is microsoft.ecially after their experience in the 1990's with antitrust. emily birnbaum, brad smith, the president of microsoft, is in town testifying again this week. what's going on? emily: yeah, he definitely testified at least twice so far this week. he testified on the solar wind s hack, which microsoft has been heavily involved in both identifying in its own products, and identifying the customers that were affected by the solar winds hack. he was also on the hill to talk about emerging technology issues, and how the biden administration can craft a policy towards china that doesn't leave the u.s. behind on things like ai and quantum computing, which is an issue there biden administration has made clear they are going to take seriously. and they are probably going to make a pact similar to the trump administration in that they are going to place a heavy emphasis on investing in u.s. manufacturing. they're going to emphasize the need to invest in r&d and all these areas, just like china is. i
