midlands communities on our rivers are trying to make a truce with nature as they work to get better access to the water... and adapt to floods. and leaders say they're making progress. jack kuenzie joins us live from the lexington county side of the congaree with more. charles, for decades people of the midlands have wished for easier ways to take advantage of and enjoy what nature has for us along our rivers. but local governments and accept that sometimes we won't control what happens. today several sections of the three rivers greenway system have been shut down or have very limited access due to high water. earlier today we visited granby park on the columbia side where you can only go so far into the park before you run into mud and floodwater. same is true for other parts of the system in west columbia and cayce. and some sections have still not completely recovered from the october flooding---which left in some cases significant damage. "as i always say mother nature will always win so we're just trying to live and enjoy mother nature and find ways to do that in conjunction w

but it started to trickle down toward the midlands. and we had anywhere from light to moderate showers. until about 6:00 or 7:00 in the morning. not just very light scattered precipitation. most of this is barely even coming down to the ground. most of us are dry right now. all of us are very warm. it is 74 in lexington. here in columbia, 74 degrees. overcast sky. wind out of the south, southwest at about 11 miles per hour. and a whole set of -- we have a stationary front just over the northern part of the state lifting out. but the cold front -- pushing through, has not made its way toward the palmetto state. it will stall out at least for a day or two. it will give us more chchces for rain. as we go through the models, this afternoon, we have a chance of light showers. and into the evening and overnight, we will see light scattered showers. by tomorrow morning, we will have a better chance for rain. especially as we get into midday -- a first round will come through around lunch time. and a second round, very likely around the evenin
