let's get in the money and take it over to mike khouw in san francisco. hi, mike >> hi there.ancials in an interesting situation as you pointed out it is a great performing sector so far this year, and one of the reasons for that clearly was when they hit the lows in december a lot of the big names in the group were trading at very cheap multiples you know, oven times with the big banks people like to look at their price to tangible book, but we have gotten a situation here where these stocks have actually moved quite sharply, and they're getting i think maybe towards the upper end of their valuation range we have seen over the last couple of years. what is interesting, too, to me is that in the same time frame we have seen implied volatility, the price of options drop considerably we are going into now a period when most of the largest constituent of the xlf are going to be reporting pretty soon. we are talking about, number one, berkshire hathaway, and the big banks, jp mortgage an, citi and wells fargo and so on. they have an implied volatility of about 15%, as low as we ty

were on -- we did mike and i, and i picked that so if you are mad about it, it is my fault, not mike'sck, mike picks the option if it is wrong, it is on me. number one number two, this is one i think we will get right and it is twitter. why is that? for years i was screaming, get away from this active user stuff, don't use that metric, it is wrong goog it doesn google doesn't use it. twitter shouldn't use it what happened? in february they took their medicine yes, the stock went lower, traded down to 29 but somewhat off to the races since they took their medicine in february, i think it works for them going forward number two, ad sales growth. you are talking 20% ad sales growth has a reasonable number and given their valuation i think it makes a lot of sense last thing, i think you are coming into an earnings release where people under estimated the power of twitter july 26th, so i like it in earnings. let's throw up the chart, earl, as we say, slide it. you can see what i'm talking about. here was the flush back in february when it traded lower, and it sort of effectively has been of

i'd like to see what mike has to say about that let's bring him on in. >> so, yeah. you on delta and the 737 max thing is obviously very interesting we have lower fuel costs which generally has been a tail wind for the airlines it represents one of their larger operating expenses, although it has conflicting issues because some of the older aircraft can stay in the fleet and keep capacity up one of the things i would point out is we have earnings coming up in delta. we've seen a 7% pop in the stock, but it doesn't move that much around earnings, which is interesting to me when you wh e consider the space we've only seen one. out of the last eight quarters, we've seen one move where the stock moved more than 4% the other thing i find interesting is the longer dated options are quite cheap. so i think the way for us to make a play here is to put on the upside callender spread. i was looking at the july 60 i can sell by 65 cents and buy september 60s for $1.65. i'm spending a dollar. the idea here being that this earnings report is likely also going to be somewhat muted

mike, what are you looking at?i'm looking at facebook i think it is probably the biggest name that will be reporting next week. you know, often times on this show we talk about our desire to try to sell things when overpriced and buy when cheap. in the case of facebook, of course, going into a catalyst like earnings, what you're going to see is the nearer dated options will see elevated premiums, higher implied volatility we do see that the other thing i would point out is longer date it options often aren't affected quite as much we could look at the difference between the longer and shorter dated ones and say it is at the high end what we will look to do is sell the near-dated options and buy the longer-dated ones. the final point i would make, talking about cheapness, facebook, despite the fact that obviously we've seen a very strong move in the share price over a long time, is not particularly expensive we really need to think about these things in terms of valuation, not price on that basis it is actually prob
