former buc mike alstott, his family, and their foundation, will travel to 30 different fire stations delivering thanksgiving meals. alstott says it's a way to thank those first responders who will be working ?on thanksgiving day. the shifts accepting food today, will be the ?same shifts working thursday. the alstott foundation will also be out ?on thanksgiving day... delivering and serving food to families staying at the "ronald mcdonald house" in st.pete. those are the families whose kids are getting treatment at "all childrens hospital." today's deliveries begin around seven a-m on treasure island. and today is your last day to donate to a special christmas charity. it's called "operation christmas child." they are collecting shoeboxes packed with toys, school supplies , hygiene products and other items... to send them to children in need, overseas. the collections started last week... and they wrap up today, in every bay area county. the charity "samaritans purse" is behind it. they are hoping to collect fifty ?thousand boxes. you can find a list of drop off locations at have you

chief, mike alstott comes to your fire station. what do you think? >> we're very thankful he comes and shares his family with us, shares a ton of food and usually it's plenty that we even have an opportunity to offer it to our family and they come and share with us on thanksgiving day so it's a great event. >>walter: the fact that you don't -- you're with your fire family, not with families but the fact it's a little closer to home. you get your turkey and stuffing and all of that, what's that like? >> it's neat. the fire service is a big family organization and we spend a third of our life with our fire department family. we're here every third day and thanksgiving is a time to be thankful. we're very thankful for our crews and own families and a lot of times we get to share them with both on thanksgiving thanks to the mike alstott foundation. >>walter: there it is. thanksgiving and we'll be with them all morning long. we'll just make the rounds at all the different fire stations. you should see the printout. how many fire stations? 30 fire stations
