we have security analyst mike brooks back with us. mike, you have some new information to add?no, i just want to point out to our viewers when they pulled back a little bit, i could see that the aurora fire department has also laid out water supply lines to their pumpers and have pulled some of the hand lines like we saw yesterday just in case sympathetic detonation does happen while they're doing this disruption inside the apartment. you know, hopefully they were able to remove the incendiary device. they say they rendered that safe along with the trip wires in the first phase. so hopefully they were able to get that flammable liquid possibly if any kind of accelerant ought of there so, you know, we don't know exactly what the shot that they're getting ready to take right now, we don't know exactly what they're aiming at or what they're trying to disrupt. but i was hearing also on this live shot, fred reeka, someone said they shut down the road. so that's why they were expecting something here shortly to happen. sometimes you may also be able to hear from the live shot right b

so we've got our law enforcement from hln expert analyst with us, mike brooks.ke, when can we expect the charges to be laid out and what happens next in terms of this investigation? >> well, the focus today is going to be on that apartment and what's inside there. you know, specialized bomb techs from the fbi, the local law enforcement bomb techs will make entry, to go in there, to render safe that situation. and then there may be other charges coming from inside that apartment. there's also other potential evidence that could be inside that apartment, randi, that we're going to be taking a look at. and what charges? well, you know, we know that there are going to be local charges. possibly first-degree murder, if they can say for sure, you know, this was totally premeditated, which to me as a former investigators looks like it was. you could have those charges, but you could also have a number of federal charges. but we'll wait to see what's inside that apartment to say exactly what they're going to charge him with. but one of the other things, you talked about

. >> and joe, we know that mike brooks had reported earlier that according to his sources that they actually the perimeter while they were doing that search for possible explosives just in case, because they didn't have a sense of how big or what they were dealing with here. >> absolutely. >> and i wonder when folks will be able to come back into the building? >> right. >> and secondly, and i don't know if we know this or not, whether or not james holmes lived alone or had a roommate or somebody else who lived in that apartment complex. >> there are a lot of details up in the air and including the explosives at the apartment, because you have the feds saying one thing and the locals seemed to have put out information that says quite the contrary and they believe that the building is booby trapped. what we have been told is that the dog has sniffed the grounds and found in indication of explosives there. so hopefully at this news conference coming up soon, they will be able to work out all of the details for us and give us some indication of whether they do in fact think that the area is safe
