special correspondent mike cerre went back to the site of the initial marine landings in danang, and group of american veterans who have returned to the country to fight a very different battle. >> reporter: as the first major american combat unit deployed to vietnam in 1965, the ninth marine expedition ribrigade land ad in danang with only packs on their backs on a limit mission to protect the strategic air base in danang, but landing was deceptively quick and peaceful.
