oklahoma, steve days, john kennedy of louisiana, marsha blackburn of tennessee, mike brawn of indiana and senators-elect cynthia lummis of wyoming, roger marshall of alaska, bill haggerty and tommy tuberville. there is no major issue with the election. in fact, multiple court cases, dozens of court cases have been thrown out for lack of evidence, and these lawmakers aren't even claiming they have evidence. this is just one more vain attempt to thwart the free and fair election of joe biden as the 46th president of the united states. it's undemocratic. it's un-american. and it will fail. cnn's suzann malvo is on capitol hill. boris sanchez is at the white house. majority leader mitch mcconnell has already acknowledged biden's victory and has urged gop senators not to force this vote. what's the point here? >> reporter: well, it certainly is a different point for each one of these senators. some of them, simply to satisfy trump's request and his demand. he said over and over this was some sort of rigged, stolen election and he wants them to do everything they can in their power to reject it. that is the motivatio
