mike emanuel is live with more on this on capitol hill today. mike this is pretty stunning. >> no question about it. the vote was not even close. the first vote which is really what decided the whole thing was on trade adjustment assistance something democrats typically support, providing money to people who lose their jobs due to trade deals. it was overwhelmingly voted down 302-126, after the president's direct appeal. then the house leadership took up trade promotion authority, which is basically setting up the parameters for future trade deals that this president and the next president will negotiate, just to see if they had the votes for it. that passed 219-211. but that was a symbolic vote because the way it was structured based on what the senate sent over. bottom line nancy pelosi the house democratic leader came out before the vote on trade adjustment assistance and said she was going to vote no to slow down the fast-track trade deal. bottom line that seemed to be enough to kill trade in the house of representatives at least for now. >>

emanuel is scheduled to have its sunday services tomorrow morning. heather, back to you. >> listening to those families and their impact statements offering forgiveness really unbelievable. thank you, mike tobin. >>> right now several wildfires are burning in the hot, dry state of california. the largest of them in the san bernardino national forest. crews are facing scorching temperatures as they work to control the fires which are being fueled by high winds. the smoke being felt as far as away as arizona. will carr is live in los angeles with more details on this. it is quite a battle for the firefighters. >> that's right, kelly. with these dry drought conditions it really does not take much to spark a large wildfire. here in california the lake fire has burned 15,000 acres in the san bernardino mountains between los angeles and the mojave desert. more than 1,300 firefighters are on the ground right now. they are battling strong winds and the smoke is creating some air quality problems for some nearby communities. so far this fire is 10% contained. the cause is under investigation. the good news no injuries and no homes destroyed. to the east, the kearney river fire is continuing to b
