here from berlin, re watching for flurries tonight and more snow let' s go to chief meteorologist mike haddad. mike: those flurries will be looking wintry. s. s, central and southern new hampshire. cold air to the north and west. especially up there in the northern plains. central canada. that will modify as it moves in. quite a few snow showers building off the great lakes. that will be the case through tomorrow and tomorrow evening. some of that snow will drift in across the white mountains. t even rule out a few flakes in southern new hampshire, especially during the afternoon. we will take a look at the temperatures in a few minutes. shelley: a man from farmington is charged with arson, after police say he admitted to setting a car on fire yesterday. the flames spread to the building the car was parked next to. wmur' s stephanie woods reports from farmington. stephanie: farmington police say they got a call about a car on fire thursday afternoon. when they rushed to the scene here on main street, they found not only a car on fire, but that the flames had spread, to the masonic temple. >>

let' s get right to chief meteorologist mike haddad for a look at the conditions right now. mike: those temperatures right near 32 degrees a good part of this afternoon with some light rain moving in. that led to some icy travel in some areas mainly north and west of concord. you can see that pink shaded area, anywhere north and west of the state capital of into the upper valley and into the heart of the white mountains. right now most of the precipitation is on the light side but that pink shaded area, you will also notice if you' around the white mountains all the way up to the upper valley may experience some minor icing. s where we have the freezing rain advisory until 7:00 as we advance through the course of the evening, temperatures everywhere should creep just above 32 degrees and any treated road should be in better shape as we advance through the late evening and the what about more changes for wednesday and snow for some before the week is over? we will get all that straight ahead. josh: firefighters are still on the scene of a massive blaze that was reported round

let' s start with mike haddad. mike: mild air out there again hampshire. it will feel part of december as we go to this weekend. take a look at the radar because behind the latest system that has brush southeastern new hampshire, including manchester and towards the coast with a couple of rain showers, as the system pulls away, notice what is happening to the west. everything on radar is white here that indicates yes. the lake-effect snow guns cranking up. duo to a westerly winds, cannot rule out a couple of snow showers -- due to a westerly wind. notice how much colder it is plains states. seasonably cold air right back to what we call average. we are not going below the norm, just right back to where we part of december. as the cold air bills in, temperatures will be running again closer to the upper 30' s. snow is in the forecast. we will take a look at a time and how much will fall up north next. jean: even though tonight winter seems absent, preparing to drive in that weather was the topic of discussion with state police today. andy hershberger talks

let's check in with chief meteorologist mike haddad. mike: the above normal temperatures will last, but not as warm as we saw in terms of readings today. take a look at the unofficial highs so far today, upper 40's north to upper 50's south. normal this time of year, 36 degrees. even right now, even though we're off the daytime highs by several degrees, still well 42 in berlin, the cool spot 52. we do see some chilly air on the map, back in the plains states, back through the midwest into the great lakes. and it's all moving in our direction. however, all of of this cool air that marches in will modify in time, so it will not be as cold as the readings you see right now, so that tomorrow we're still in the 40's in many spots. the wind have been active all day long, still gusting at 15 to 25 miles per hour in a few spots, but they'll go light as we go through the later part of tonight into early tomorrow morning, a files looking wednesday, but what about more changes for thursday on, we'll look at that coming up. tom: legislation aimed at

so let's check in with chief meteorologist mike haddad. mike: the wind is the story and also the mild temperatures what a warm december day out there. take a look at the highs so far today, upper 40's north, mid to upper 50's south. we have seen some gusts to 35 to 40 miles per hour, but not enough to fulfill the criteria for the win advisory, that's why they were dropped earlier today. notice the temperatures still right now on the mild side. although it is cooling down through a good portion of the upper midwest, great lakes and eastern canada. that will be moving on in tonight, into the next couple of days, putting our temperatures a little lower than today. but still above average. notice the wind still busy, from on average about 10 to 15 miles per hour, then the gusts are up to about 20 to 25. notice mount washington is still blowing up to hurricane plus at 102 over 6,000 feet up. it will still be breezy on and off for the evening, as temperatures begin to drop. what about wednesday, and more changes for the end of the week. we'll tak

for more on the full forecast, we go over to chief meteorologist mike haddad. mike: yes, you're right, the snow search continues around here, still struggling to fine it. although ski areas up north during the colder night have been making some. so there are a few slopes open, make sure you call ahead because it's limited now, but there is sumter rain. to the coast where the clouds and showers exited early today and now fair skies in southeastern new hampshire. but a lot of low clouds and dense fog filling in elsewhere including a good part of central new hampshire down to concord and points south and west. a few high clouds building in from the next system, that will hampshire as it tends to dry out in time. what is not drying up, the low cloudiness, filling in the heart of the lakes region, the visibility down under a half mile in places like laconia, in concord, good portion of the monadnock region and plymouth not that bad, but down to three miles from rochester, manchester, south and east not an issue yet, but we'll ten to see low clouds and fog fill in the

let's check in with mike haddad to see how long the snow will continue. mike: certainly a wintery scenario up north, no question about that. southern parts of the state blustery and chilly today, but no snow at good part of the day. a couple of mixed showers hit a few communities. right now on radar things beginning to wind down. snowing like crazy over eastern and central maine wevment have picked up three inches of snow in twin mountain, anywhere from a one to four inch accumulation, great north woods through the rest of the white mountains. from berlin points south and southwest into the heart of the white mountains, still some lingering snow. that will tend to taper off in the next two to three hours with an additional i believe in some spots. temperature wise, back in the mid 30's up north. on average the snow has been meeting on pavement, but some of the back roads up north and some of the passes through the mountains a little on the slick side. so allow extra time if traveling out and about in the north as the roads will likely turn snow covered or
