mike hanna has more from the white house.ter: president biden said in the course of the day with an interview with a local u.s. network that there was the possibility of extending that deadline. he said that every american citizen is going to be evacuated from kabul, and his forces will remain in place until this is the case. this is the first suggestion from any aspect of the bided administration that there is -- bided administration that there is -- biden administration that there is an end to this timeline. the state department says over the course of the day that it has evacuated some 7000 people to this point. it adds that there are another 6000 people at the airport who have been processed and are ready to go out on transport flights. they do not specify what the nature of these people are, whether they are embassy workers, american citizens, or afghan nationals working for the u.s. and have been granted single immigration visas. the state department also says that other personnel are being sent to kuwait and qatar to h
