those are the headlines...meteorologist mike hoffman joins us now with weather. mike, from snow to tornrnoes, it was a wild weather week. boy you're absolutely storm coming across the country this week. we'll how that to you coming up, in the meantime drought monitor continues to show the worst areas as has been the case, all growing season out west. california, nevada, the worst areas. it's actually improved slightlin washington and oregon. and you're going to improve a little as we head ththugh this week but moderate drought only spotty across the middle of the country. alright let's go day by day as we start the week on monday, it's looking like a wet area already really through the missouri valley starting in texas all the way up into missouri, southeastern iowa. storm system kind of double barrel here coming in. this is going to be the main pocket of energy snow on the northside of that especially higher elevation. rain all the way down southward into southern california at least some areas. and then you can see some scattered showers and storms herwise. kind

meteorologist mike hoffman joins us now with a look at our long-range forecast. mike that blizzard earlier in the week, i'm guessing is just the beginning of winter weathe oh yeah, it's that time of year but the next big system probably coming in out west this week. here's the jet stream as we head through this week, you can see we started off very cold in the east. that troph though kind of moves away. so we start to warm up a little bit as we head toward thanksgiving, big troph big system out west, and then that cold air starts to come east by next weekend once again. so, things are at least moving from west to east in most situations. let's check the 30 day outlook as far as temperatures, we're going below normal from georgia, alabama all the way up to southern south dakota, down to texas and back to central and southern california above normal for the far northern and eastern great lakes and much of the northeast. 30 day outlook for precip, expected to be above normal for much of the southern trow thirds of the country, especially the midantatic down into the

those are the headlines...meteorologist mike hoffman joins us now with weather. mike, the gift you call an indian summer sadly came to a close for many of us this week with some viewers even seeing snow. well that's right, tyne, but it sure was nice while it lasted, but you can see on the drought monitor we have gotten rid of all the red areas in the southern plains, still some dryness in spots and i know that's hard to believe. this is a long term drought monitor that drought starting to show up from southern michigan into the missouri and central mississippi valleys, something that we have to watch anyway. you can see the very dry conditions do continue out west, there is some hope as we head into winter though for some of those changes to be occurring with this bean and el nino winter. now let's go day by day, on monday we are going to start off with a storm system in the southeast more than likely, we will have to watch the gulf coast area there is always potential for a little bit of development early this week, but right now we are thinking mainly in the sou
