mike inouye keeping an eye on traffic. bob redell talked to frustrated passengers. first live to kristi smith live at the b.a.r.t. station with why delays aren't over just yet. kristi, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. thankfully we made it out of the morning commute. boy, it was a rough ride. b.a.r.t. experiencing five to ten-minute delays in west oakland where we are and dublin station. i want to step aside so you can see what the station looks like. it was busy earlier. right now quiet. all this because of a collision in the trans bay tube. a temporary fix in place but you can still see delays on the way home. at west oakland, the last stop before san francisco, it was a waiting game. all trains east and westbound forced to use a senile track. instead of the usual number in the trans bay tube, the number was cut to eight after two maintenance vehicles collided. >> unfortunately, one rear-ended the other. it sounds like it was a rail grinder. >> reporter: it's used to smooth the rails and looks like this one on b.a.r.t. tv. a collision that kicked of

here is our own mike inouye. >>> i've turned our camera in palo alto north. i know it is kind of a dark shot. we see the dumbarton bridge coming across with the head lights westbound off of the high rise. wind advisory issued by chp just now for the dumbarton bridge, i should say just about 15 minutes ago. that means they were caught by a gust or two as they were coming across and decided to let the other drivers know that. let's look at the camera on the foster city side of the san mateo bridge. no wind advisory for the san mateo bridge. similar air in the same airway. we are going to look at possibility of gusts there. emeryville turned toward the span as well. even over here on interstate 80, it is like a smooth flow. our camera is getting knocked around here as well. that's it. we will watch out for the pass. >> b.a.r.t. is going to allow riders with their bikes on. they had a test to bring riders aboard. few riders complained. some board members want a longer test period to try and gauge passengers overall reaction. the board will be taking a vote today

we'll check the drive with mike inouye. >> i think we found an imperial walker. this is equipment at the toll plaza. i thought they completely cleared it from the frame but you saw it moving. we can see the westbound commute direction from the hayward side. the clearer view, this is the foster city side coming off of the high-rise, a steady flow and the volume of traffic picking up. the sun coming up. slowdown west 580 out of the altamont pass. by the time you get to north livermore things clear for west 580. 84 typical slowing and 84 to 680 a smooth drive meeting up with the folks in sunol. we are looking at walnut creek, concrete, smooth drive on the interchange as well but this will slow a business bit because of the volume of traffic heading out of antioch. get a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza as well where we have the sun really in our camera lens but you can make out all the lanes are starting to slow as the metering lights were turn on a few minutes ago and past the parking lot at the toll plaza the build is on but a drive back to the maze. >>> a y

here is our own mike inouye. >>> chp reports as the commute builds here in fremont. we are looking at 880 southbound with the head lights. you are okay here down by the truck scales and this auto here. from dakota, the dumbarton bridge cutoff, reports of a two-car crash in middle lanes. two chp units arrived on scene. they may have to move folks over to the shoulder. i have seen the slowdown shift around. still slow right at thornton, reporting the issue. there is commotion. may be some more slowing. crews just arrived on scene. >>> the eastshore freeway is relatively smooth. we have a brewery truck reportedly being hit off the eastshore freeway, west 880. i did find this. the live picture. there it is, the white truck. i don't know how they knew it was a brewery struck. a chevy cavalier hit the big rig. we see folks walking around. the cavalier probably didn't do as well as the big rig. the commute moves smoothly toward the bay bridge toll plaza. the commute continues to build. no big drama right now. it is going to really start kicking in over the next half hour. n

for more details on this, let's check in with mike inouye. he's got the latest. >> yes, this is never good news for the pedestrian. we just got confirmation from caltrain that a person has been killed as a result of this crash. the investigation going on at the scene and that's why trains are halted just north of san bruno station. i'm showing you the golden gate bridge. traffic is moving smoothly from the north bay. if you're heading south along the peninsula you cannot take caltrain all the way down because of that stoppage. they're advising folks to take the millbrae and b.a.r.t. station. b.a.r.t. is honoring those caltrain tickets. allowing to you transfer from b.a.r.t. to caltrain, south of the scene of the crashing and continue down the peninsula for that service. and northbound the same thing. transferring northbound at millbrae, get on the b.a.r.t. at the end of the line. take that into san francisco. again, b.a.r.t. will honor the caltrain tickets because of the shutdown right now just north of san bruno situation. caltrain is not of
