welcome in mike inouye. how was your weekend? >> it was great this weekend. you and i both were over at that food drive. i'm sorry if you used the other entrance, just come over to the one by starbucks where i hang out in fremont, i'm always by the starbucks. we have a crash west 580, told but that. the update from chp is that everything is now cleared from the center divide. some distraction but not a lot of slowing. we had an earlier crash similar that is off the roadway, no slowing, though, and none for the rest of the south bay. as we look at our speed sensors along the peninsula and east bay, the typical pattern on 880 and 101. the dumbarton bridge, it's so clear we can see that westbound traffic across 84. equally as light with those few taillights. san mateo also with the connector. look at that light twinkle across that high rise. that's an optical illusion. that's also a clear drive. >> what happens in a missouri courtroom could spark protest or change nationwide. the 12 men and women on the grand jury deciding whether to charge a white police office

here's mike inouye. >> that's actually all the thanksgiving festivities.ly lighter. that's what we see, southbound 680 in the last five minutes, a huge improvement as the sun comes up over the hill. we had an earlier slowdown coming up, both accidents have cleared from the roadway and recovery southbound. so speeds in the 50 mile-per-hour range at their very worst. look at the tri-valley. >> and we'll give you a live look at 101. the volume of traffic now really starting to build up north of 680. we're seeing a slower drive and typical patter but lighter than normal on a typical tuesday. the slowing eastbound is not the concern. it's westbound across that flat section over the last few minutes. for now we'll send it back to you. >> thank you, mike. >> one person is dead and another in custody after a fiery four-car crash on interstate 580 in oakland not far from where folks were protesting last night. two separate crashes, each involve it would go cars, happened just moments apart late last night on westbound interstate 580 near the fruitvale off ramp. a c

here's mike inouye. >> you have your atmospheric river. we'll talk about the river of cars for many spots in the bay. the river is sort of stopped up because of the metering lights. that's by design to keep the bridge moving slowly over real water. the oakland area approaching the coliseum. once you're north of there, the taillights moving smoothly. we're concerned with the area, the 16th avenue offramp from southbound 880. a little indicator there behind the 880. the off ramp partially blocked by a big rig. a smooth drive and northbound it's a general commute right now to the bay bridge. san mateo bridge is 92 and dumbarton bridge moving slowly. hayward into union city and we're seeing them start to move over toward the peninsula without any major slowing there. a little slowing north of 680 up to 880. 87 had an early burst as well. that will sort itself out. as we look at the dublin camera at 580 westbound, we're expecting a little heavier volume of traffic. it tends to be the case the week before thanksgiving people try to get a little
