here's mike inouye. actually, i'm going to send it back to you guys. >> thank you very much. this morning's rain is bringing up flood concerns on the peninsula. bob redell joins us where some homeowners are still cleaning up. >> the last thing anyone needs at the lamar trailer park and r.c. mobile home park needs. they were able to come on saturday back to their homes after last week's storm that led to the red tagging of several homes and forced the evacuation of 200 people. the water in this area was a foot or deeper, of course causing a lot of damage in these homes. friday they had pumps running to get this water out, which they were finally able to do. saturday, those who were allowed to return did return. this place has a history of poor drainage and the property behind them has a history of flooding. so those two factors right there led to the problems they had last week. of course we're to the amount of rain, the aim intensity we saw last week, at least not right now. with it like this, this area can handle that sort of drainage. it when they have the deluge that it ca

weep also have it on good authority and that is of course from the chp and mike inouye that the northbound directions are still shut down. sometimes after they're able to clear all of the water off the roadway, it takes some time to remove the signage and all of the equipment to shut down the roadways. sound like they're waiting for caltrans to reopen. they were hoping to have this open by 5:00 this morning so the traffic flow would not be impacted this morning. but the damage was done by 11:00 last night when the roadway was completely flooded. it is a rather long detour. so give yourself some extra time, if you have to leave right now, give yourself a couple extra minutes to get where you are going. you're looking at video now of what the freeway looked like. it is an eerie sight when you see a completely blacked out freeway and that's how it was between 11:00 last night and about 4:00 this morning and even closer to the 5:00 hour when they reopened the southbound lane. this is going to continue to be a problem for at least about a half hour longer in the northbound direction. southbound

first we want to check your drive and say happy monday to mike inouye. >> happy monday, christina. to greet us, they froze us. let's look at your map. it is jammed up. traffic just starting to move a little bit better. there was a crash that's just cleared the roadway. chp says you should see smooth and flowing traffic as that builds. slower drive north 85 approaching 87 where we had an issue. now we're seeing a recovery again as that volume builds into downtown. more flowing traffic than last week but not as much as a typical monday. so we'll see that restoration continue. but this will be a big problem as well. the dumbarton bridge crashed, overturned vehicle blocking the slow lane. westbound is jammed from the flat section toward the mid span area. chp said it's going to take at least half an area to get the right crew there. use the san mateo bridge to the northbound. that will jam to the next 40 minutes. so there's a big note for your westbound traffic. 880 is a bit through hayward. look at the tri-valley, 680 toward pleasanton and sunol. livermore doesn't look quite as bad as

here's mike inouye and your drive. >> we're looking to pressure e n in the north bay. you still see the close and moisture in the air. the slick roadways continue for highway 101. we'll show you the bay bridge toll plaza and the back up here. there is some congestion and some concern. 101 over on the right side, novato over to the mill highway. approaching the bay bridge, a similar build for west bond 80. a pretty typical pattern there for a thursday as well. as we look closer to the city, a smooth approach over the bay bridge and the golden gate bridge has no problems. coming up, the peninsula smooth and dry and no flooding reported for 101 and the 280 extension. san mateo, a little build for the volume here. 880 south hayward and 680 south, typical patterns. nothing really unexpected. i do want to show you guys this live camera here in san jose. we have this beautiful shot but this is the way i have to look at it. hey, look, down in the corner, flashing lights. i can't look at the sky, i look at the wet roads and fender bender over the south shoulder. no obstruction

mike inouye. >> i want to show southbound 680, talk about what i've been looking for seconds ago, looking for this incident in the chp report. we have this jam here southbound with taillights through sunol and into fremont. out of pleasanton actually. look at your maps. this is because of the crash, one like this on monday, two left lanes blocked at vargas on the southbound commute. another crack in the backup. looking for the crash itself, in the chp report it looks like it just disappeared. sometimes it happens after a refresh, sometimes because they cleared the incident without fur details. look at backup through pleasanton. more building as folks kol off of west 580 out of dublin and livermore. no major issues. free throw of traffic through pleasanton south 680. use some of the front age road but was that will take you to the bottleneck near vargas. we see slowing at castro valley y and hayward. big view for the of the san mateo bridge here, easy drive towards san francisco, oakland, bay bridge. slick roads continue. south of the dumbarton bridge, smoother drive. crash south 880 moved
