congressman mike johnson, thank you for being this week's newsmaker. let me turn to the two of you and start with you all where we began with the congressman, on the impeachment vote. scott, going forward, what do we know based on what was in this resolution? what will the inquiry now look like? scott: i think the resolution talks about two aspects of this, one is an affirmation that this is a legitimate impeachment investigation going forward. it was the first a formal vote that the house of representatives took to sort of endorse this effort. remember there was that whole fight among democrats about whether they needed to take a formal vote to actually launch the impeachment inquiry. this settles that question. the second part of that is what this looks like going forward in these public hearings. what this essentially does is lay the groundwork for what that does. how witnesses will be interviewed, what the format will be. there will be 45 minutes of questioning from the democrats, from the democratic chairman and his staff counsel, so we will see s

when you are listening to the arguments yesterday, even sitting today with mike johnson from louisiana, a talented lawyer, smart guy, promising person within that party, well, you know, i see this as all, you know, hearsay and people who have opinions about what other decisions were being made by other people. but nothing really. and no quid pro quo which -- how can you see that on the facts? >> chris, he did it. he did it. the facts are overwhelming. the legal standard they're trying to construct is we must have a videotape of the act of crime. must have a signed confession. must have at least three to five eyewitnesses. as you know as an attorney, that's never how it happens in a criminal proceeding. the evidence is overwhelming. and as i said to you on the program the other night, the debate america ought to be having is, okay, do these acts rise to the level of an impeachment offense? but the facts are the facts, and he did it. >> why can't they own the position that they won't go as far as you can, but it was wrong. shouldn't have mentioned bien. shouldn't have done it this way. s

senate committee chairs ron johnson and chuck grassley have asked secretary of state mike pompeo to releasertment records related to joe biden's son, and the ukrainian energy company on whose board he served. the senators have written a letter saying they want to better understand what actions were taken to ensure policy decisions relating to ukraine and burisma, the energy company, were not improperly influenced by the employment and financial interests of family members. the senators also want any records on john kerry's stepson, christopher heintz, who was once a business partner of the younger biden. katie? >> katie: christopher heintz reportedly broke off business ties with joe biden as a result of him joining the burisma board, concerns he had over the dealings there. there are now emails from lobbying firms showing that they want to leverage hunter biden's position on the burisma board as a way to get to the state department to get special favors. and that's what this is all about. they want to know about what was going on. was there any improper access given as a result of him being
